NO I am not suggesting anything like that, but as a EMS worker I do not think that its appropriate for us to assist any taking of a life. We are trained to save them not take them. You brought up ganglands and I was just saying that no matter what the gangsters in the jails will have someone to finish the jobs that they have set up whether they are alive or dead. The military is trained to defend our country you also brought that up I was just saying that is a different ball game the Medics in the military are trained to do both save a life and if necessary take one that is their jobs. EMS workers its not our job to assist in any taking of a life.

I do watch gangland and even if you kill the person that does not mean that the world is safe, they will be some martyr that carries on for them. That too is a different ball game. Maybe we as EMS workers should take it upon ourselves to go out and decide to engage the act of exucuting everyone that we feel is a threat like the crack head down the street lets just give him a IV does of crack who will ever know? To me its the same thing killing is killing and murder is murder, reguardless of who is doing the killing the state or the criminal, I would quit nursing and ems if it ever came to the point that i would have to do that.

That is why they are called COMBAT MEDICS, and the military is a different ball game anyway. The military's job is to defend the country at any means but to assist in the excuting team of felon isn't protecting the safety like the military does, for one thing they are no longer a threat to safety because they are in the prison system.

Its like the article said.... "we are to preserve life not take it."

I agree we as EMS workers should not be apart of this... (keeps her opionion on capital punishment to myself!)
