  1. Haha I knew you were twisted Terri. Tourist? I am assuming it has something to do with a trip to Vegas. :P

Me, I am MC Rebel. YeeHaw :naka:

    Peace,

    Marty

    :thumbleft:

Marty dude, what happens in VEGAS stays in Vegas :!: :!: wasn't my fault that the cops got involved was it :?: .... so you are a rebel....

  2. Well, maybe some of us DO have plans. We're just a few or more years away from being in any sort of place to even attempt to implement it.

GROW UP DUDE.....when you get a few more years under your belt call me we will talk......and i am not B bashing here but dont make a statemtent til you get the cert.....hey when you decide to implemtent this plan.....maybe we can do lunch or something...

  3. I know sweety........I left that door wide open there......

well I would consider going bald for a cause like that.....but i would cry like a baby till it all growed back...and ITK bald.....would not be a pretty site.......

  4. That's neither the point nor the question. The point is that those requirements and standards are embarrassingly low and dangerously inadequate, no matter what the state says.

THat is the point......the education system was set up based on National Registry standards...these standards are based on what the NR feels is adequate for the TITLE.....so are you all saying that that the NR is not capable of determining the educational standards for our profession?.......and if this is so.......then NR has really goofed when it comes to giving narrow minded people THEIR EMT P certs.....then the NR should rethink the way they do things......i bet you guys werent saying the NR has lower standards when you got your certs were ya?.....

  5. Well here is what I have to say about this subject.....and VS and I have kinda hit on this in the chatroom but I am going to post my reply to it here....

I am an EMT Intermediate...I was trained to do certain skills and I passed all the requirements needed by the State of Virginia saying I am able to practice at this level.....The education I recieved was what got me to pass my skills and written exam...IF the education I had wasnt good enough I WOULD HAVE FAILED AND NOT BE A EMT-I...and as far as responsibility goes if you dont want the responsibility dont continue your education.....the states set up the standards to pass....the colleges teach the skills and basic knowledge needed to pass these skills....the NR makes the tests.....the person chooses to take this road or not......and expirence takes care of the rest

  6. I like the shaved head look myself it is very professional looking.....About 1/2 the guys in my area have the shaved look and the other ones...well a good trip to the barber might be a good ideal....

But I dont think I could carry it off......I love my long hair too much ......but hey I am a girl so it is all cool.... 8)

  7. Marty I agree with alot of your points

First I think it that people are so caught up in the me and my opionion that they have lost the sense of compassion and caring and they think it is better to belittle someone and bash them than to remember where they came from we all started somewhere and had to apply alot of blood sweat and tears to get where we are in life and EMS...

I was upset about my thread getting locked....cause people took a simple question that applied to me and made it a bashing forum for the medics to bash EMT-B's and no where did I even mention EMT-B's at all....I just wanted a simple answer to a simple question......

But no matter what level you are the first 3 letters of the title are EMT....EMT -B EMT-I AND EMT-P...

Marty I agree that this forum is a good place for the "older" EMS workers to help and tutor and maybe even inspire the young and new EMT's that are coming into the world of EMS....but if they see the constant bickering and belittling of others that goes on some may think that it just isnt worth the effort to be in EMS.....

I think we all just need to step back take a look at our selves and remember where we got our start and where we are now.... and encourage the new EMT's and not bash them we all have a place in EMS ......reguardless of if is the janitor at the station to the captain....we all have a place and just because you have more letters behind your name doesnt make you any more imporant than the mechanic that keeps your trucks running so you can go on a call...

We are all in EMS cause we love it ......but like alot of things in life we are sometimes our own worse enemies....

    Just my 2 cents..........

  8. UMM ANDY...Dude........what can I say to this one :?: ........I AM SPEECHLESS. :!: :!: :!: .......you have managed to do what few have ever done before..........

hope things are well with you my friend I miss YA BUNCHES ..........

    :angel13:

  9. Never too late, or too old, as long as you can handle the physical challenges - I plan to continue towards my paramedic when I retire from teaching in 4 years - I have been in EMS for only 6 years part-time and volunteer now, and have really enjoyed the Basic experience. If it is something you really want to do, you will find a way to do it! Good luck!

I am with you there If you want something bad enough you will scarfice and bust your A** til you get it....It doesnt matter how long it takes to get there as long as you get there,,,,,

  10. I have noticed a lot of hostility in the forums recently. Just reference the "should volunteer squads be eliminated" or "boyfriend/work" threads to see what I mean. :violent1: It is time to repair our karma and set aside the angry words of oppression. :hippy2:

It is time to bring back an old summer camp favorite to heal open wounds. I will start, you can join in anytime........

    Kumbaya my Lord, Kumbaya........

    :wav:

If I start to sing there will be no one left in the forums........they will all die laughing ......
