    starting another 36 in a few hours. Here's to a good shift, but the ice might make it interesting

    Ice on interstates sucks. Not looking forward to driving 70 miles at 0600 tomorrow morning for class :( After working 36 hours too.

      I can't remember her name, but she's a vollie in Balmorhea and works for Air Stat and out in Marfa. Apparently her father is one of the local DPS Sgts... :S That part scares me :P

      And FISDAP IS PURE EVIL!

    Getting ready and gear together for a 36. I get off at 0600 on Tuesday and first day of class is 0800 on Wednesday :)

    Classes start a week from Wed... already reading over some stuff to make sure I stay ahead... and I'm getting paid to do it right now :)

      Heh I saw Joe for the first time in about a week and a half today. The joys of working nights and weekends :P You I guess I can't ignore quite so much, especially if I hear back from county any time soon

      Not picky about when they start hiring :) Thanks again for making sure it got to the right person. I just know that when I'm on semester break extra money would always come in handy.

    I like my service... but I swear I might kill a medic or three that work there. Glad I'm running my app down to the next county south tomorrow. Who knows, maybe I'll like it htere better and try to move to FT there and PT at my current service

      Nope :P Once I get my AAS in Paramedicine here I'm planning a move back to ABQ to get my BS-EMS and then back to CO :)

      No matter where you go you will find a medic or three that needs to find a new place to be.

    So... I got my full NM EMT-I cert in the mail today :) Scored a 90 on the written test

      I'm already a TX EMT-I and NR EMT-I :P And I think it went well, but have to wait for results to come in the mail.

    Have to head to the city today to fill out paperwork so I can register for P-school in the Spring :) I'd say that counts as official notice I'm in, huh?

      I think Midland. Steve Barry is in charge of the Medic program at OC. And trust me I think it's a year too long in coming to get back in :P

    Almost done with my first week as second man on a truck :) I love this service. I'm on call till 0600 tomorrow, then 4 days off :D

    They got my results back :) I'm officially hired on now. Now to find out my start date... and TRY to find a place ot live down there other than the station

      Your single get on with some other services and just live at each station rather than paying rent. lol

      Might buy a travel trailer so you can move easily if you ever need to or if the grass gets to tall so you don't have to mow.

      All I have met there seem to be good people. As you are small town you already know but just a reminder careful of the small town politics. Keep us posted how it goes I may have to go looking for a job before to much longer.

      I grew up in small towns (in fact that town I've been living in with my parents is smaller than pecos :P)so unfortunately I'm very used to the politics.

      And just to let you know, PCEMS is looking for 4-5 more FT EMT-I and EMT-Ps

      If it works out and your happy you can send thanks in the form of cash. If it turns out you hate it I had nothing to do with it. lol

      Make sure you get a full understanding of the work hours and the required call time if they still have it.

    Elite Medical in Deming/El Paso is seeing if they will take my temp cert. If so it looks like I might interview for Deming, if not I might interview for EP. Fingers crossed again

    Phone interview w/ Guardian EMS TX just done. Lets hope they can find a FT 911 slot for me :)

    Applied for two fire academies, 1 police academy, and the Border Patrol testing. Figured I'll keep my options open :)

    Scored 148/150 on the transition test :) Now I am schedule to take the NM EMT-I state test in December

      No unfortunately. It's the reciprocity process to gain full NM EMT-I cert. I'm out of CO, so I'm not really looking at I/99 anymore...
