Slave Lake Fire

Recommended Posts

I have been watching the news regarding Slave Lake. I got my EMS start in that area way back around '98 I suppose. A newly minted EMR looking for work. That, naturally, found me work in the industrial sector, and northern BLS ambulances (EMR/EMT config). I have moved on, of course, but I do still remember the area well.

Just east of Slave Lake, on highway 2, I use to remember driving by a large burnt out area. It was caused by a large wild-land fire that came close to the town a few years prior. I remember thinking to myself what would have happened if that fire had actually hit the town, but it seems, sadly that question has now been answered.
