Reciprocity Websites?

I'm trying to find a website that will show what states have reciprocity with others. Specifically for EMT (or paramedic) but also for Minimum Standards (FF1 and FF2).

Is there such a thing out there on the internet?

Specific possible states are Georgia, California, Illinois, Texas, and Hawaii.

I'm in Florida by the way.

Thanks!

NREMT.org has a page with state EMS office contact information. If you're looking to gather information on the potential for reciprocal consideration of your EMS certs you're going to have to contact the EMS office in each respective state to which you're interested in moving.

Thanks. I guess it's just that I do not know where I am moving yet. It's still a coin toss.

For your EMT, check the nremt site as suggested.

Regarding fire certs...you are in a good position because of Florida's heavy clock hour training with fire standards, a FL fire grad can get recognized in most states whereas anyone transferring to FL from out of state would have to redo the academy. Very few out of state fire academies meet or exceed FL's required hours for standards and a lot of states do not make one be certified prior to employment as they prefer to train them after hired or it is civil service exam (larger cities).

Did you send off for your Pro Board recognition after graduating the academy? If not, do so right away, that recognition will help you as well.

Here is a website with some info on state by state reciprocity

http://www.emt-resources.com/emt-reciprocity.html

I can't vouch for its accuracy though, as someone else mentioned, you will need to go to each states' website, and possibly call each one.

As far as Hawaii goes, I can tell you that the fire service is probably hard to get into. The whole community there operates based on who you know, and who you are related to, and many people there don't like mainlanders.
