holy crap! i can't even do simple math! some people have way too much time on they're hands.

Why? so it can smack you everytime you tell your patient how they're "really doing?" Or when you tell your supervisor it's not your falt?

LOL On my first live fire training i tripped and fell flat on my face. in front of Chief! On my first fire i tripped again! Remember don't run or jog on scene! I'm actually having a hard time deciding what my first call really was. It seems when i first started i got most of my EMS experience off duty. There was a road side assist for a diabetic...hmm... I'd have to say my first actual call/ run/ walk was when i worked at a water park. I was the only EMT and we had a spinal injury on one of the slides. I boarded, makeshift c-spine, and assessed her all inside the slide. This was my first time putting a pt on a board! I had help from the lifeguards and eventually an AMR crew met up with us. that's when i let them take over. I was a little nervous. Welcome to a career of wiping bottoms and being the little old lady's hero of the day; untill of course she falls again and can't get up. then she forgets you and falls in love with the next FF or EMT that picks her up.

I wasn't driving. I was with Fire at the house and an AMR rig was en route. but you're right they shoudnt have been driving on the tracks. lol

Ok I'll be honest. My first FD call was an ederly woman w/ab pain. Our trouble was the ambulance got stuck behind a train, so we took her vitals over and over and wrote down her long list of meds for 20 minutes. Awkward. :oops:

Alright after 11 pages of intros it's my turn. I've actually been a member here for a while and finally got around to introducing myself. I'm a 20yr old FF/EMT out of Northern California. Been an EMT for a couple years now and a FF for one year, loving every minute! Eventually go full time with a local city department. Thanks for the welcome and the opportunity offered here in the City.
