  1. There is a mole? Where the hell have they been hiding? I need to have a discussion with the individual. By the way, itku2er is winning, I never would have guessed. As to who added Rid, I wrote an email to admin asking him to add the name. So, since the only forum moderators I know of are Admin and AK, there is the 50 50 chance of either, or 100% if they are one in the same. :? :? At this rate, I guess I'll never know........
  2. I thought I put a "none of the above" option. Could you go ahead and open the edit option back up for me Admin......ahem.....I mean Ridryder.
  3. I put the names up there. They were the accusations from the other thread.
  4. HeHe....I voted for myself I will be the only person to have 100% support (from myself of course) for the Honorary EMTCity Admin position.
  5. I think the other post is coming to a close, its time to vote. Cast your vote for who you think is EMTCity Admin incognito. Even if the person is not EMTCity Admin, we can make them a Honorary Admin in order to put the mystery to rest. The poll will close in 15 Days. Edited a few times just because.
  6. Thanks for the advice, but do not kid yourself about paramedicmike being admin. Ha, these are EMS folk, how can you expect us to agree to even disagree, much less agree on something? Sounds too much like religion, so we better not go there.
  7. You Fink ! I will have to come up with another profile now......and just think, people were starting to like me
  8. But do you know is current double identity?
  9. Until you prove that it is paramedicmike, we have to assume you are lying.
  10. Eh, I have to agree with spenac that he is not Admin. Spenac is too argumentative, opinionated, and too vocal in my opinion to be admin. He'd kick off half the members of EMTCity just for one misspeling
  11. I don't recall Admin ever engaging in arguments. Usually he goes in, cleans up, and/or locks a thread. So far, there is absolutely no evidence, until it is presented.
  12. You can just be saying that though. How will we ever know for real? To be sure the Mystery that is EMTCity Admin. is not solved that easily...... Here are the accusations so far: Paramedicmike akflightmedic itku2er Hal (from 2001, A Space Odyssey Mateo_1387 Dustdevil So far only one denial of being EMTCity Admin. akroeze So is there anyone else who you think could be admin? Please state why you think so.
  13. Why the need for multiple accounts in your case? Figuring out who is admis will be all the fun ! So this is another clue, Admin has something against Jake...........nah, thats nothing special, I think everyone does I wonder how AK's ass come up in conversation between Dwayne and emtcity women. I take that back, I do not think I want to know.
  14. 1 down and how many, somewhere around 18,000 more to go. Yay.
  15. I might be Admin........But what makes you think that? Mike may be admin, I never really thought of him as one, but it could be. I guess you could be, but I never really thought of you as admin. But who knows? Are you a pre-op transsexual? So while he is kind of at the half way point he could just go ahead and make the Mrs Administrator profile, and use it on the days heshe feels feminine. Of course, this could mean that admin's second profile is that of a female.....hmmm.. :-k
  16. So you have seen the oh so great one ! Who is it? (you would probably ask, do you really want to know?) (to which my reply would be ---->) I must......I must So who thinks they know his possible double identity? Just to update, the CIA has not returned my phone call yet..............
  17. Ok folks. I have been thinking that maybe the admin is always posting among us without our knowledge. So here is the question, who could it be? What makes you think it could be a certain someone?
  18. This is the protocol that Wake Co. Uses [web:aa33ce7383]http://www.wakeems.com/ICE/ihv11.13.pdf[/web:aa33ce7383]
  19. In Wake Co. the supervisor's vehicle contain electric coolers that maintain the temperature.
  20. You all want to know what happened to Dust? Here is what I think happened. I recall this quote from a certain *Cough* EmtCity member *Cough* Just sayin'
  21. That is wrong as wrong can be and so wrong that it was wrong of you to wrong everyone else and say such a wrong. You learn TONS more of information very much so pertinent to being a professional paramedic if you have an associates or bachelors degree in EMS. I am sorry to tell you this, but 2 or 4 years of paramedic education trumps 700 hours of paramedic training. People with a four year EMS degree definitely trump my two year associates. In college, the classes do not just skim the top, they dive deep into medicine. The more years you study, the more time you have to dive even deeper into medicine. Again, you are wrong. The quote I quoted earlier "you don't know what you didn't know until you learn it" applies again. You should attend a bachelors program, and 4 years down the road, you will understand just what we are talking about. Also, as stated before, 700 hours of paramedic training is not the same as 2 or 4 years of education. You obviously have no idea what is taught in a degree program. English and math classes are not a waste of time. Just read any EMS report, and ask people to do drug calculation, MAP calculation, Oxygen percentages, and you will start to see where those classes are important. I agree that High school should have prepared you, but I think they are to prepare you for college. Unfortunately, high schools cannot always be relied on to do an adequate job at educating students, that is where college has to pick up slack. So you are not willing to change your view? You are unwilling to try anything different? You are not ready to change the way EMS has been run for the last 50 years? Then please leave. Everyone on this forum will tell you that EMS is a changing field. You have to be adaptive and be able to learn new concepts. The need for education being the most important. The rest will fall in place after the education. Your statements are also contradictive. You say more education is better, yet you are against paramedics with more education? Please make up our mind of which one you want. So does that mean that a PA and a Doctor are the same. I mean they are both allopathic in nature, they are both similar in ways, yet a PA can do better than a doctor with two college level years less? NO. The same with paramedics. Years of education does make someone superior in knowledge to someone who lacks the education. Anyone here will tell you that they would rather have a green paramedic for a partner. A green paramedic has not developed the bad habits that plague EMS. The green medic is still adaptive, and able to conform better. I have been on this forum for two years, and I cannot recall the general consensus being that people would rather have partners with many years of experience. Then you want a well educated degreed paramedic. Then you must not care much about the care you or your family will receive. What a load of BS. I do not want some cook book paramonkey who can follow an algorithm. The effects of a paramedic's treatments can be deadly. Even following an algorithm perfectly can be detrimental to a patient. I want an educated paramedic that can make medical decisions that will positively affect my health.
  22. Me spidy senses tell me that ye are we bit jealous Where do you get that idea? I think almost everyone here appreciates people that do not require degrees for their jobs. I personally appreciate garbage men, lawn cutters, clerks, janitors, fire fighters, cooks, Nursing Assistants, road pavers, and pizza delivery men. The list is longer, but I think you probably get my point. When it comes to my health care, I want the best. I want someone who is dedicated enough to earn a degree in their profession, who will have the competence to care for me. I want all my healthc are workers to be very competent. That includes my nurse, my respiratory therapist, my radiology technician, my nurse practitioner, my doctor, my surgical technician, and my pharmacist. They learned all the ins and outs of their profession. I expect the same out of the paramedic I call to pick up my grandparents. I want someone who went to school, and knows all the ins and outs of EMS, and the care provided by them, know the care the hospital will provide, and how their treatment will impact my grandparents. That education cannot be provided in a non degreed paramedic school. It takes at least a two year degree to get a solid foundation. Hours of paramedic training cannot equate to years of study of paramedic education. I would rather see it be a bachelor degree as an entry requirement. This is coming from someone who currently only holds his associates degree ! This topic has been vastly discussed. People who advocate degreed paramedics do so because they are generally educated as such. It is the people who do not poses the degree that do not see the point. The quote "you don't know what you don't know until you learn it" applies in this case. I think this is true, except the part about lacking in ones personal life. I know plenty of college graduates who are now professionals, who spent their college days with quite a life. The reason people with college degrees want to be the only ones in EMS is because they want to see the profession move forward. And personally, I do not want just "anyone" to have a shot at EMS. The profession is not for everyone. It is sad that someone can do a paramedic job with inadequate training next to a well prepared degreed paramedic. I do not agree that non degreed paramedics can do it better than degreed paramedics. It takes a non degreed paramedic many years and calls to catch up to the starting point of a primarily degreed paramedic. As far as egos are concerned, I think that you might have a confidence problem. Degreed paramedics are normally confident in their skills, and people who are not as well prepared may view it as being egotistic. I do not know you case, but that is what it appears like. Just an opinion. As far as degreed paramedics, I do not know many that are egotistical, and most degreed paramedics would feel the same. I am not saying they are not out there, I just do not think it is a big problem like you are making it out to be. Then what is the problem with the entry requirement being a degree. I agree with you that education does not hurt, it is the lack of that is hurting everyone the whole way around.
  23. At one of my agencies, we are allowed to leave the patients on scene without them signing a refusal of care. They did not need any care, so why make them sign a refusal of patient care. In the other agency, they just play the CYA game and make you get a refusal for each and everyone. Personally I think that if they patient has no complaints, and they do not want any care, then no refusal is needed. Documentation is needed for the call, but not a refusal form. If care is started, or the patient looks like they need emergency care, then get a refusal.
  24. Maybe this guy just does not think negatively. Also this guy had EMT basic training back in the day. For all we know they did not cover OB that well, and going many years down the road he forgot anything about it that he knew. So if he did not know anything, then he had no reason to be nervous. On another point, this is a media document, who is to say they did not edit it as they saw fit. Rather than putting in this guy shit his pants because he forgot all his training, they decided "he had coast guard EMT training, and he was not nervous at all" sounded better overall.
