  1. Does anyone have a protocol for treatment of Lion Fish envenomation?
  2. Thanks for all the info. Went to Wake EMS web site. After somemore reading I am sure I will have additional questions.
  3. Thanks JakeEMT. Next question is how do people keep the solution at a constant cool temperature?
  4. Protocol and how due you keep the saline solution at 39.2 F?
  5. Hypothermia Induction. Is anyone out there doing this? If so can you send me some information?
  6. I have not taken the course in tactical Medic. In our system we only have 2 individuals that have gone through police academy and are on the SWAT team for call out. However, I am on the S.O.R.T (Special Operations Response Team). We have practiced large incidents (School shootings etc.) and train with the swat team. After the scene has been secured our team goes in and evaluates the patients and start extricating. Training includes the shooter is still at large and we hear gun fire going off. Training includes IED in place that have not been detonated. With all the training I must say I feel secure if I must lead a team of medics in to render aid.
  7. First off all I must commend you for the job you did. When we respond to a call on or off duty once we begin patient care we must be careful as to what we tell other people not in the care of the patient. You are asking a fine line as did you divulge to much information. If this happened where I work the system would say yes. Don't let this stop you from helping in the future but be careful of the press they have a tendency to put words in our mouth. My partner had a situation over a year ago and spoke the press without permission and got in trouble. Family stated they did not give out all the information the Medic did and from there is was a big mess.
  8. We have changed our protocol on Tazers. We now have the police remove the tazer and transport the patient. To many cases where the individual is under the influence.
