  1. Maybe I can help you in this area. Set up a monthly training for your department. One key point is to do skills checks twice a year. Make sure when you make up this training it goes with your state guidelines for CEU's. Another way is to talk with your medical director and get permission to do ER time. It takes commitment on your part but it is well worth it.
  2. I read over the paper it is nice that the major dates are before EMS was ever in effect. And most of the fire departments use EMS calls to up there call volume so they can receive more money for there departments. I know of departments that have both Fire and EMS and they cant keep there Paramedics because they get burnt out and have no time to recover between calls. If they want to do this they have a lot of work to do. In final closing How many Fire departments go to all the I stubbed my toe so i called 9 1 1 just to have them look at it. They talk about CPR we all know that is not the majority of the calls.

  4. Let me hopefully put some light on the subject. As far as the new guidlines go for compressions that is an easy adjustment. AED has to be changed by the maker of the AED. Red Cross has the new guidlines for CPR they follow the AHA who sets the standerds for everyone. As far as ACLS could you tell me where they got the material because all I can do right now is pre order it. PEPP and Pals last i letter i got said end of December. As for changing protocols since the guidlines are constantly changing you might want to consider putting in ACLS PALS and BLS Current guidlines. it will help and you do not have to write new ones every couple of years. I hope this helps . Also shocking quickly does work the casinos in Las Vegas have shown that allready.
