  1. Overhear in the UK we have been wearing green uniforms for sometime now, the Ambulance services do have different styles but have found that with the Green & Yellow reflective safety jackets do remove them from looking like the Police & Fire services. The type of uniform style that is used mostly here are dark or kelly coloured green combat trousers short sleeved shirts with pockets for torches,Pens etc and epauletts with service name and grade in blue or green, some service also wear red, also a Blue or white T-shirt is worn under the shirt and top jackets in green or green & yellow with reflective words on the front & Back ie, Ambulance or Paramedic & Emergency Medical Technician.
  2. A number of the Ambulance service trusts in the UK are now using rear taillifts, the biggest user of them is London Ambulance, The offside is a Lift and the n/s is a door there has been a few reports of the lifts braking down but on the whole the Ambulance crews love them. Also the other type on UK ambulances are ramps which are manually or electrically operated.
  3. Here in the UK we have an Emergency Doctors Service called BASICS. the scheme was set up by General Practitioners & Hospital Truma Doctors to attened serious road traffic accidents and incidents like the recent London bombings. There are schemes who are based around the UK and are only called out by the Ambulance service, Medical Doctors are allowed to have a GREEN LIGHT on there vehicle and if there BASICS also siren/two tones etc and in some cases also Blue lights (The HEMS team in London use them) www.basics.org.uk
