  1. I am looking for a Tactical EMS course offerred somewhere in the state of Michigan. Anyone know where I could look?
  2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it shouldn't be abandonment unless the ALS provider makes patient contact or does something out of the BLS Scope of Practice.
  3. In class tonight, we were told that patients suffering from decompression sickness or nitrogen necrosis should be placed in the left lateral recumbent position. Is there any logical reason as to why? I thought it was proven that it does no good... Can someone give me some insight?
  4. True, it only saves three or four minutes.... but can YOU go that long without oxygen? If you can't, should the patients have to if we can help it?
  5. Now I could use some clarification here... I was taught that there are certain things you must disclose to the police.. one of which is if the injury was incurred in the commission of a crime... Now how I take this: If Johnny Patient was taking illegal drugs in his home, he walks out onto the sidewalk and gets mugged and we take him in... We know he was illegally high, but it wasn't the cause of his injury, so we can not report it. That being said, if Johnny Patient was high and passed out and we took him in, the drugs caused it, so we have to... I am not challenging anything, I'm honestly hoping someone can explain this to me a little further.
  6. I want to major in EMS, but was looking for a program. I'll take a look at what you have posted, everyone... Thank You
  7. I am currently living in Michigan, and will eventually be getting my Paramedic's license. This is an Associate's of Applied Science program. Is there any sort of Bachelor's Degree that one can attain in EMS? If so, where could I find information?
  8. On on ALS Rig? No. I think it should be Paramedics, EMT-I's and EMT-B's. Now on a BLS rig, I think it is fine. They only have Basics and below, so having FR's, while not ideal, is acceptable.
  9. I am not sure where else to put this. I am helping out a department. They want a webpage for their dept. Let me start by describing them: They are a Fire Dept. with a BLS Ambulance Service. They have MFR's and Basics with an EMT-I as the coordinator. What would you put on a dept. website like that? Any suggestions?
