  1. As a guest in chat. I never registered or posted to the forums. What he said. Central Columbia County. Help me out... do I e-know you? If so, I forget and I apologize.
  2. Oh god, the character of Gregory House is nothing short of genius. However, that character development has taken five or six years. This show isn't even a week out of the chute yet. IMO, it may still be salvageable. Plus, House has its share of explosions and sex (remember when the building collapsed?). If people don't take House as reality, I'm hoping they'll have the same philosophy with Trauma. Besides, this "Rabbit" guy has potential to create some really good "holy shit" moments.
  3. There's been a massive drop in educational content on EMTLife for this very reason... all of the educational powerhouses don't post out of fear of being banned because some whacker who dun need no edumacation arbitrarily takes offense.
  4. I'm a bit torn on this. Yes, the show was a flaming turd, but it's hard for me to gauge the effect this show will have on non-EMS folk. House certainly doesn't portray doctors in a good light, but people still go to them. We'll see. Hopefully we can take care of any necessary damage control.
  5. The sad thing is that when Trauma receives an epic blow from the cancelhammer, it will probably be because Hollywood said "Guess people don't want a paramedic show", not "We should tweak this thing and make it more realistic", basically destroying the hopes of a new Emergency! even being thought of. EDIT: How could NBC do such a good job with Third Watch but manage to FUBAR BUNDY Trauma?
  6. I'm EMTinNEPA. I, like many others, have one foot out the door at a certain other EMS forum, so I came here on the recommendation of some e-friends. Anyhoo, I'm 21 years old. I've been an EMT for a year and a half and I'm a paramedic student. Upon completion of the program, I will have a certificate of specialty in advanced life support. After that, I plan to take the CCEMT-P course and complete an associate's in EMS. I work for a private service and I am proud to say that, even if 46Young and I will probably bump heads about it (wouldn't be the first time and won't be the last). I also serve as an adjunct instructor for my alma mater's EMT program. Blah blah blah, listing credentials, look how good at EMS I am, blah blah. I'm single with no children and live by myself. I'd like to have a family one day, but I don't realistically see that happening. I'm cynical, misanthropic, and a relentlessly sarcastic observer. I'm also a former Mass Comm major and a former Music Ed major. So that's me. If my posts do nothing else I hope they make you think.
