  1. I was always taught that I was the most important person on the call, then my partner, then the patient. If your running at excessive speeds that endangers me and I will call your a$$ on the floor for reakless endangerment.
  2. I had a separated shoulder, driver had a pinched nerve in his neck that gave him problems for several months
  3. August 25, 2001 returning from a call, drunk on a Harley( almost home from all day poker run, BAC was .28) decided to pull out in front of us. Almost made it, we fishtailed hitting the cycle with our back driver's side corner. Biker died from head injury, (as luck would have it, he landed on the middle of the highway, which is the county line the state cops had to determine which county his heart was in so they knew which coroner to contact). We ended up on the right side, totalling the rig.
  4. I'm guessing the patient was taken out the passenger side across the console instead of waiting on rescue to take the driver's door.
  5. 1:30 a. m. dispatched for female with migraine. On arrival, she was waiting outside at fornt of house, along with her 8 & 11 yr old daughters, wanting to take them with her because they were hearing voices in the house. Informed her other arrangements had to be made for the girls, called PD- when they arrived, they discovered the husband asleep in bed. The girls stayed at home.
  6. Our service has 2 of the Power Pro cots, purchased about 8 months. No problems to date, other than being a bit heavy. They replaced Ferno 28s which we were tearing up. We also bought the tracked stair chairs because we have places we didn't want to try to get the Power Pros up the stairs. ( We're trying to prevent back problems ) We' ve found it's easy to have both EMTs on the end of the cot when loading it with a patient.
