The only time I have ever used a KED was for hip injuries. Also I would also mention the lack of use of many types of equipment...I've used a scoop many times, especially on hip fractures. I had one particular lady that we moved her from the floor to the cot with the scoop but kept the scoop with her on the cot til we got to the ED to help support the leg because when we moved her it lifted her leg just enough to provide a little relief and we did not want to mess with that. Tongue depressors for finger splints... I know I've used equipmetn for other uses but I cannot think of anything else right now.

A girl I work with sells ultrascopes and I ordered one and it works well for me, at least for how much I use it (I do transport primarily with little EMS when local volunteers do not get their trucks out). When I complete my paramedic course next year I do plan on purchasing a Littman. Is there any particular model Littman (or any other brand) that is good for when I complete my paramedic in about 2 years?
