  1. I'm hearing some conflicting information about how good the stethoscope offered by Big Shears is. I'm going to be getting it for my sister who is going to start rotations for medical school. She currently has a Littman Lightweight II SE. What I would like is to get her something as close as possible to the Littman Cardiology III. Anyone with firsthand experiences able to provide some sort of comparison or review? Thanks so much!
  2. Yes, this is not the Red Cross so I am unfamiliar with how they do their courses. This is the American Heart Association (AHA). For AHA, First Aid can be taught without CPR/AED. They are optional. The certification will indicate whether First Aid included CPR/AED.
  3. I recently bought the AHA Heartsaver First Aid DVD and it came with two discs. The first is labeled as FIRST AID and covers the core topics + environmental emergencies. The second is labeled as FIRST AID in big letters and under that in small letters is "CPR and AED". This second DVD basically covers CPR/AED. I know that we can teach First Aid without the CPR/AED portions. My question is for Heartsaver CPR or Heartsaver AED certifications by themselves (No First Aid). Do I really have to purchase separately the Heartsaver CPR DVD and Heartsaver AED DVD? Is there anything covered on those DVDs that isn't covered in the second Heartsaver First Aid disc that covers CPR/AED? Thanks!
  4. I didn't get it either... but this might help a bit i guess http://www.comedyzine.com/tvcraug00.html
  5. I believe combi's arn't used as much because if I remember correctly from an ACLS instructor, when NYC used those, idiots thought you could just shove them in "randomly." Started damaging tracheas and esophoguses... all sorts of stuff and so now we're stuck w/ ETT... someone please correct me if i'm wrong
