Just Plain Ruff

ok, I'm at the point where I'm about to throw my mothers Kindle(not kindle fire) but her kindle across the room. There's no volume control on it. It's the all black model, it's model number d01400 and was given to her by my brother. It's about 3-4 years old. It has the power control on the bottom of the kindle. The speakers are on the top. There is no volume control anywhere. This is really frustrating. Does anyone have any insights? Or is the volume just blaring or mute? Are those...
