Give her O2 and take vitals. What do her lungs sound like? Also, ask the school nurse for her health sheet so you can get a history.

EMT-B class was about $1,200 through a community college. Paramedic class (which I'm starting in the fall!) is a 2-year Associate's Degree which will end up being about $4,000, with books and tests not included.
