ABINGTON, Mass. - A Boston paramedic accused of shooting his deceased colleague's brothers, then using his emergency training to treat them, was ordered held without bail Monday.
Rhys Williams was arraigned on a list of charges, including assault with intent to murder, and was ordered held until a dangerousness hearing Thursday.
Abington police say the 41-year-old Williams went to a party after attending a benefit Saturday night for his former partner Mark Brinkman, who died in May. He was asked to leave the party after an argument, then allegedly returned and shot John Brinkman and Paul Brinkman.
Both survived, but Paul Brinkman remained hospitalized Monday.
A Boston emergency services spokeswoman says Williams, on medical leave since July, has been placed in administrative leave.
It was not immediately clear if he had a lawyer. A public telephone listing for Williams could not immediately be found.
