Employment Opportunity Available

Alberta Health and Safety Training Institute is seeking an EMS Professional to join our Instructional Team as an EMR Instructor. We offer over 14,000 sq ft of training space and currently offer the EMR program to students in Calgary, Red Deer and Canmore. This position will report directly to our EMR Program Coordinator.

Our ideal candidate will have strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively with our EMS team. As we offer courses outside of Calgary, the ability to travel is required.

Minimum Qualifications:

 ACP registered EMT or higher

 Previous instructional or facilitation skills preferred

 Proven experience in customer relations and customer service

 Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

 Ability to work independently and under direct supervision

 Ability to apply problem solving skills and perform critical thinking

 Red Cross First Aid Instructor status is an asset

Time Commitment:

Courses are offered full time and part time, year round:

• Monday thru Friday for 2 weeks

9:00am – 6:00pm

• Wed, Saturday & Sunday for 4 weeks

6:15pm – 10:15pm, 9:00am – 6:00pm

• Monday, Tuesday & Thursday evenings for 6.5 weeks

6:15pm – 10:15pm

• Friday, Saturday & Sunday for 4 weeks

6:15pm – 10:15pm, 9:00am – 6:00pm

Don't tell them all the nasty things I've said about vollunteers and EMR's they are probably going to see my resume :D :oops:

LOL you could say that. Have you interviewed yet? I was on holidays, probably missed ya.

I have not applyed for the position because of all the ACP stuff I have to do first to be registered in AB. I e-mailed them and they said I have to be registered prior to position start date (although I am not sure when that is). Unfortunately I cannot get into GAP training till october :) . Looks like I may miss this opportunity, but hopefully another one comes up, I do love to teach EMS.

So I see there is a posting for emt/paramedic skills instructors currently posted. Im wondering if anyone can speak on the quality of this school, as I'm not familiar with their program.
