magnets and EMS

Recommended Posts

Don't forget that sometimes the defibrillator is going off for a reason. It might not always be a good idea to turn it off.

absolutely, I would never turn it off without direction from medical control but in this guys case the underlying rhythm was near perfect sinus rhythm(sic). There was no evidence of any ectopy on the monitor.

I do not know what the reason was for it going off but I'll give the guy a call and check up on him.

Sorry if this is a bit late, but the service I work for does carry the magnets and we are trained in using them. I'll see if I can dig up our policy for you if you still need it Ruff.

Please post so we can all consider if it should/could be put in place in our services.
