  1. I work with an Ambulance Mfg and EMS sales outlet as well as continue to work casual EMS. We are having more and more servicing looking to retrofit and order Bariatric Transport Units and equipment. The Stryker Bariatric Cot is a hot item because you can acually fit a bariatric person onto it with a 750lb weight rating in raised positions. the problem is lifting and moving. The Powered cots (ferno and Stryker) are a partial solution for lifting and loading patients at and under the 500lb mark. Has anyone seen the Transafe Ramop and Wich System from MedPro or the Bariatric Lift system from Mac's Lift Gate, these are two options we have installed, however due to the modifications and price, it is a major investment for a service. www.macslift.com www.transafesystems.com Two Bariatric Solutions that do work.
  2. Found It!! www.macsliftgate.com. They don't have info about it on there site. Let me know if you here, would like to see pics. This company has one in service: http://www.emt-inc.net/bariatric.htm
  3. I am looking for info on a Bariatric Lift System I have seen but can't find info on. It is called the Macs Lift or Max Lift. It attaches to the rear of the unit, extends as a lift platform and will fold into a rear step bumber. Does any one know the product I am talking about. I have been looking at the Transafe Ramp system but this lift system looks much better.
  4. Try Canada, or more specifically; Try Saskatchewan, they are making good money, as long as you are in a full-time position, with overtime I know rookies making 40 plus. The province has implemented a equalization plan and is looking to improve rural EMS and make pay equal to urban. If you get into a fairly busy rural service you can do well, plus it is cheaper to live.
