  1. Well things went smoothly so I guess I'm staying (all my credits are there anyways). My school said they haven't deducted the GI Bill portion of my tuition yet, and that it would happen before the semester started (stupid out of state tuition costs). I got the advisers name and a reference number for the meeting so hopefully I won't have any more issues.
  2. Thanks for the tips guys. My school is not accredited by the CAAS or CAAHEP but it approved by the Florida Board of Health. I'm going to go see if I can get this tuition sorted out, and depending on how they handle it I might be looking for a new school!
  3. I feel like the school that I'm currently attending is very scattered brained and they're always giving me bad information. For example, just this semester they told me I would be paying one amount (and I have this in writting for once) but just sent me a bill for almost $1000 more than I was quoted. And this is not the first time this has happened. I also feel like they mislead me about residency laws, which is why I'm still paying out of state tuition. Also a problem I just ran into, I was asking just the Paramedic classes add up to 12 credit hours, and I was told no by the adviser I spoke too. On a whim I looked up the course description (making sure I had the most recent cataloge) and yes the classes do add up to 12 (or more!) credit hours for semester. Basically they just often give wrong answers or half answers and because of that I've not been happy with them.
  4. So I'm currently attending one school, and I don't like how I've been treated by them. I feel like I've been subjected to a lot of mistake and poor service. So I'm exploring my options for finding a different school to get my Paramedic License and AS degree. I've found a few places through the Florida board of health but I was just curious if there are in Central FL people who've got some first hand experience with these places.
  5. Hi everyone! Doing my new forum member duty and saying hello. I just got my EMT-B license in Florida last month and I'm still looking for medically related work. I've been in the Army for 9 years (6 on active duty, 3 in the National Guard). I'm in school right now to become a Paramedic and get my AS degree (although I may be switching schools because I don't feel like my school is giving me very good treatment). Anyways I'm glad to be here to soak up some knowledge and advice from everyone. I look forward to talking to everyone.
