  1. Hey Guys, I started a topic at the start of my EMT-B course to ask what to expect in clinicals, and everything that was said was extrememely helpful in getting through class, so I'll pose this question. What should I be expecting in Medic? I do know that I'm not going to have a whole lot of free time (Have a 5 week over lap with Firefighter 1 courses and I'm doing a 7 month Medic course). Thank y'all for all the help Chris
  2. In my classes so far, We've had "Call for ALS back-up, if you end up not needing them, great, you can always cancel." We've also been taught that you can always meet up with ALS somewhere if you feel that you can't do what your patient needs.
  3. We have to do 16 hours in a Hospital setting and 84 with FD. I elected to do a few more shifts of FD than what is required as I'm going straight from EMT-B to Paramedic and want to have as much experience as I can get before I'm off clinicals for a bit. We've been told to make sure we have money for meals, expect to do lots of CPR, and we aren't allowed to use Auto-pulse unless the Paramedic with FD decides to.
  4. As a new EMT-B Student, I'm starting my clinicals in a little under a month. What should I expect from the FD ride along and the Hospital setting? Is there anything I should ask or shouldn't ask? Thank you for your help, Chris
