Yeah, that's a good question. Would like to have a steady partner. Also, I wish FDNY can place candidates in the borough they know best. I know the Bronx very well as far as the borough of Queens and Brooklyn, I don't know a thing about that borough. I will definitely get lost. Is there anything I can do to work in my borough?

In the previous posting, they mention that you have to know someone in order to get into the FDNY department. Well, I didn't know anyone and I got in.

I have applied for the position as a EMT for the New York Fire Department. I've went to all procedures and test and have heard nothing from them. All of this was done on the month of October and November of 2005. Would that mean that I did not qualify? I pass the physical, background check, medical test and not too sure about the psychological testing b/c no one has told me that I passed it, so I'm guessing I did. Is there a way in which I can find out my status?
