  1. Hey congrads on passing, I just did too. I am also a recent grad looking for employment as well. I don't know what the job market is like and the area you live but in my area of north louisiana there are only a few providers holding contracts. The largest the is near me is AMR is they have careers posted on amr.net. The other main service provider that i am interested in applying with is pafford ems. They handle alot of rural areas and I was told by one of their employees to feel free to drop by the corparate office here and applyin person. Don't be afriad to pick up the phone and speak with a supervisor. Jobs are competitve are they wont just fall into your lap. Also I have been thinking of volounteering a few times a month until i am fortunate enough to land a job so i can continue learning and also get my foot in the door of one of those companies. Good luck and I hope this helped a little bit. Oh have you tried googling ems jobs in your state to see what pops up?
  2. I just recently passed the emt basic course that was taught a the local community college, passed the practical and writtens exams, all on the first try. Your right the written test will really make you question yourself and like my instructor said, "Alot of those answers seem wrong, you just have to pick the one that seems the least wrong." I used the online study guide from my textbook (Emergency Care 11th Ed.) to study and pass the actual course itself. Then I used the "Emt Achieve" software that came with my book and a study guide from a publisher called barrons to pass my written test. I picked it up at books a million for like 18 dollars.
  3. There is a difference. the actual blade that moves while cutting is supposed to be on the outside, next time you pick up a pair of scissors check it out. also alot of scissor handles are curved for anatomical position and when a left handed person picks up a pair it is fitting in their hand opposite form how it should.
  4. I'm looking into purchasing my own trauma shears since I am left handed. While searching for them online I came across what appears to be the same pair but at different prices ranging from 2 dollars to 9 dollars. Do you guys think these are the same shears at a different price or if there is in fact a difference in these items. Since the most expensive pair is still relatively cheap, my main concern is buying quality and not wasting my money either by purchasing inferior eqiupment or overspending. Thanks for any and all input guys!
