Hi everyone i'm new to this site and i will be starting a EMT Basic class in the spring. I am so ready for my dreams as an EMT to become reality. Im 21 and i live in Illinois but would love to move either to Chicago to Milwaukee, But i'm hearing so many negative things about EMT's mostly the pay os not so good and also the lack of respect as an Basic who is just starting out with no volunteering experience. Is this true? i feel anything thats worth having is worth fighting for. I joined the site to have positive and honest feedback and gain more knowledge from real EMT's and hopefully a mentor. I wont keep going and on but if you have anything to bring to the table im always open for advise and information thats out there be safe.
