    I will share with you my general advice for all relationship problems.....Dump him. This strategy seems to resolve any and all problems immediately and with out the headache or extra effort. And I mean come on....That's where its headed anyway. :wink:

    pain - only in extremities or any where else...head,neck back?

    Lung sounds - ?, SOB?

    chest stable, any pain, symetrical rising, flail segments,etc

    Abd, - distension?, tender to touch, bowel sounds

    head to toe any other fractures noted on secondary

    and lac's or external bleeding?

    Reason he fell, did he trip, weakness, pass out, etc.

    This should keep ya going for a few mins Squint :pottytrain2:

    You are the joke...you know nothing about me. So don't even try... I've been a member here far longer than you. Take a poll....Mr. March 20. Your posts from day one have been about nothing but crappy outlooks on life and your profession because you are bitter. I'm sorry...but not my problem. You are very welcome here...but don't even try to pull that crap with me. Done...end of discussion....your juvenile comments don't upset me. I'm far beyond that. As far as a blog....Einstein...they are made to express your personal feelings...whether they make sense to you or not...as I said before... you don't know me. Serious discussions and professional conversations are for forums. If you don't like my personal and private thoughts...don't read them in my blog...     Would you take a blood sugar here?

    For some reason though, if I take a blood sugar on a patient with a GCS of 15, I get a "Minor Error" on my ACR and that goes on my record.

    There must be a protocol somewhere for this, otherwise how can you get a "Minor Error". It's absoutly rediculous that have to wait for a gcs drop to justify a blood sugar check!

    Was I wrong to open my mouth in this case??

    Connie, you said that the d-fib only had loose wires hanging out and the monitor worked fine, then you probably won't get suspended. If you do, the union will fight the suspension and most likely win. I've seen a few times where they have tried to suspend people for thimgs like this and only giving the employee free days off. Have you talked to your Shop Steward yet, if not do it now, and if he doesn't do anything call the union office. I'm a shop steward as well.

    So akflightmedic, you agree with someone calling another dunb, lazy, idiot, etc?? As a forum mod one would think that you would discourage this type of demeaning to another person in such a way. Yes it was a dumb question, have you ever asked a dumb que? Is this person brand new and just not know any better? What I am saying is that we can show a LITTLE RESPECT to people. and the part about keeping people from asking good questions is that they will be afraid to ask any because they might be faced with the same ignorance shown here.

    Let's just suppose, hypothetically speaking, that you couldn't do finger sticks and someone here told you that you could. When questioned in court and you say "well the guy on the internet said I could do it" what do you think is going to happen?? I still can't believe that someone could be so lazy and/or dumb to look at their own damn protocols!

    Patient also states she doesn't remember what I was talking about when I asked her to remember a simple word.

    Question...

    How many services address the use of pain medications patients with suspected ETOH use? One of the contraindications for Nubain is ETOH. Would you have given her the Nubain or left that for the ER to handle? Keep in mind that we have no other findings with the abdomen other then it is distended.

    Not being familiar with Nubain, I looked it up and it appears to have similar properties to morphine, With the statement above I would probably hold off on the pain meds, according to my protocols. 12 beer in a person would be alot and Yes I would let the ER deal with pain management in this one.

    Ying, you are my new hero. (I don't mean that facetiously). I seriously believe that if there were more people like you in the world, there would be a whole lot less war and strife and general discontent. Ever notice that the people with the least amount of posessions in the world also tend to be the most content?

    I have my own set of beliefs...they do not include the Bible or Jesus. I have read it, and found it very contradictory. There are some really good stories, and there are some really good messages, but you can find that in 'the Hitchhiker's Guide' as well....There must be a higher power...we'd be silly to think that we were the top of the 'food chain'...but it has no place in the back of my ambulance. If my pt wants me to pray with them, or to do something religious with/for them before we get to the hospital, I call it all in the name of my patient's best interests and do it. After all, it's not going to hurt me is it? And it may very well help them.
