About Me

I'm currently enrolled at Rio Hondo Community College in Whittier, CA. Right now I'm taking my general ed and pre-req courses to fulfill my AD. I plan to enroll at Mt. SAC in Walnut, CA once I finish my pre-reqs; I'll be applying to the Radiologic Technologist program.

However, the RT program has a three year waiting list, so I've decided to pursue an EMT-B (and also Paramedic) certification while I'm on the waiting list. As of 2011.03.31, I have one more semester of pre-reqs to finish in order to apply to the RT program (Chemistry, Elementary Algebra). After I finish those two classes, I'll send in my application to Mt. SAC and enroll in the EMT-B program.

In my free time I like reading, karaoke (I can do a mean "Beauty School Dropout" by Frankie Avalon), hiking, gaming, and I also pursue various other nerdy interests. I am a member of the Los Angeles Chapter (known as Manda'galaar aliit) of the Mandalorian Mercs Costume Club. The Mercs is a Lucasfilm-recognized Star Wars costume club specializing in custom Mandalorian costumes (like Boba or Jango Fett, but totally original characters developed by each member). So yeah, I'm a nerd, but I've been told that I don't fit the "nerd" stereotype at all. Most people are surprised by my level of nerdiness due to this fact. :P

I am single, I have no children, and I plan to obtain at least a Bachelor's level of education so I can eventually travel and work internationally. I'd like to move to Australia for a bit. My younger brother went to Australia for a medical conference a few years back and he had a blast. Italy would be nice, too.

I'm interested in foreign language as well. Currently I speak English fluently and can speak some Spanish (not enough to hold a proper conversation, but I understand more than I can speak). I want to eventually learn at least French, Spanish, Italian, and German. Plus I want to learn or at least have some degree of proficiency in any language that is readily used in my geographical area. For my area of Southern California it would be Spanish, Tagalog, Chinese, and Vietnamese. I'm pretty much interested in learning as many languages as humanly possible because such knowledge will make me a valuable asset to any medical team.
