My full-time work is that of a grants administrator for state government specifically for hospitals and EMS services. I am in healthcare as a career because of my initial experiences as an EMT. I went on to become a Paramedic then a hospital administrator. I have a part-time consulting practice that I am building which is focused on process improvement for all of healthcare but ideally focused on helping build collaborative relationships between hospitals and EMS in order to improve patient care.

Some of the areas that I am passionate about:

- Process design & re-engineering / Lean Management

- "Just Culture" for EMS

- Data-driven quality, finance and operational improvements

- Pushing toward achieving "EMS Agenda for the Future"

- Medical error and "near miss" reporting for EMS ( http://event.clirems.org/EventReporting.aspx )

Finally, while I am still a Paramedic (and hope to always be) I am only good at pushing paper. I have been out of the field long enough to know that I am now just a papermedic.
