I have been in EMS for the past 26 years. I started on a volunteer Rescue Squad in Plainfield, NJ in 1984. I moved to Mass in 1986 and joined a call fire department in the town of Groveland, Ma. I worked as an EMT in the city of Lawrence and Lowell, Ma for 4 years before going to Paramedic school. After paramedic school I worked in the city of Salem, Ma and Somerville, Everett, Malden, Revere, and Chelsea. I than went to a hospital based intercept service (in Norwood, Ma) that server 12 comminutes. In 2005 I joined Norfolk Fire department which is a small bedroom community that has a low call volume with a very high acuity. From Norfolk our closest hospital is 10 miles away. We get to practice a lot of medicine in Norfolk. In norfolk I was able to help biuld the service and then become the EMS director. I just finshed up my Bachelors in Health seiences at Nurtheastern University and I am applying to PA school. I also joined the NDMS MA-1 Boston DMAT in 1994. I remain active in DMAT to date. I still work for a private service in the cities of Peabody, Salem, Lynn, Malden, Melrose, Somerville, Chelsea, Everteet, Revere, Newton and the towns of Marblehead, and Saugus, Ma. I like to keep active!
