I am a 42yo male, father of now 4 and grandfather of 2. I moved recently to Walhalla, South Carolina at the encouragement of a long time friend who not only did I grow up with but was also my first partner when I got into EMS. I had to leave the field when I was going through my divorce back in 93 and move on to other areas of making money including truck driving. My love for the road and the great outdoors never held me back from wanting to get back into EMS. When I lost my job this past April and soon after lost my house in Florida, I decided to make a change. I moved my family up here and started working in a factory making transfer cases for Borg Warner. My buddy kept an eye out for something for me then finally about 4 weeks age, I got my break. I applied and come to find out not only my buddy but an old friend of mine who I ran with and a back up partner in Florida pushed the department to hire me and let me go back to school. I am looking forward to starting over again and along with that, I will also have my 19yo daughter in class with me going through the same class. She wants to break in to the business and since she is young, I know she will go a long way.
