  1. I do not know what state you are in, but in S. Cal, when an individual has handcuffs on, they are considered under arrest, and must be with LE officer at all times. So I would say, you need a LE with you tony EMT-B Jail Coordinator, SBPD
  2. In S. Cal mostly FD do all the "dirty" work. Most ambulance companies do not have the proper toold to correctly "Rescue" any individuals Tony EMT-B
  3. Its very possible to do both. In Colorado, we have several Dep on the Vol Fire Dept which came in very helpful at times. I currently maintain a civilian position in the police dept, and EMT, in Calif. Some dept (rural) mandate EMT certifications Tony
