for volly EMS yes a company t-shirt is acceptable as a uniform anytime of the day. paid please atleast be presentable even when responding from home your districts expect a higher level of professionalism from you. i was on a ALS intercept with my medic we tossed our gear in the back of the squad's truck and i noticed the "tech" in charge was wearing a miller t-shirt. i think that just makes my point

In the company i run EMS with we have a simple system and it 's approved by out insurance in PA Ambulance 18= to drive and pratice and 21 to drive the paratransit van. in my oppinion and i know oppinions are like assholes... but a person who has completed their precepting properly is fit to command a small scale incident such as a two car MVA but a large scale incident involving other agencies should be left to the more experianced crewmember due to the fact that young pepole are usuly new and haven't gotten a chance to see the local customs.

some of my partners have rode the rail and haven't flipped it, but they were small guys. our company has some larger mods that have room to move around the pt. on both side and i have been known to sit on the counter so that i'm in a better position for compressions. the only thing that i can offer is to do what works. around here you can hear it in the bays and in the front office "adapt and overcome" use your head and do what works, without taking risks that you are not comfortable with.
