  1. valentines day has always been a ripoff for me, my birthday is th next day. i get a card thats about it.i think last year was the first time in 24 years that i ever got a gift, i was not expecting anything, i never do but it was a nice surprise.i dont understand how some girls expect things nice things at that.i dont know i just dont get it

  2. i have so many....this is a few.... the crew that is on before me is always nice enough to leave me with 3/4 gas, unmade stretcher, and no portable 02.never fails every week.they are just lazy people. restocking the truck does not bother me to much because i check everything during rig check (even if they tell me they used nothing), i also decon my truck before every shift i NEVER trust the crew before me no matter what crew it is

  3. my police dispatchers get the call, from that point they send PD over to the call, then they call ems, or fire, also depending on the call they will call in als. when i get the call over my pager in theory they give us the dispatch time. my pcr has a case number from pd, and the time the call was received. we are to fill in the rest of the times(responding, out on the call, to hospital, clear hospital and time als arrives) .my response time starts as soon as i get the page.

  4. We recently had a CPR recert night... our instructor told us to start practicing on our own, then he pops in a CD and starts playing "Another One Bites the Dust"..... we stop and look at each other like "WTF?!?! That's just wrong to play that right now..." lol... So we're all lookin at him like he's crazy and he says to do the compressions to the beat of "Another One Bites the Dust". Sure enough, the compression rate fits with the beat... adding up to a rate of 100/min. So now everytime I do CPR, I sing the song in my head. Just make sure not to sing it outloud while on-scene... I imagine that family members might get a little upset if that were to happen... lol.

that is the best song for cpr i sing it to my self when i do it. when i first stared ems one of my friends told me about it and i never really thought about it till i did cpr for the first time and it really is the best beat for it

  5. until just a few months ago, my department supplied us with, a black button down ems shirt. and ems pants, all line officers were white shirts. along with that we also got 2 black squad shirts. now everyone is wearing white ems shirts, with department patch on one arm and emt patch on other. you have the option to wear a badge, and caller pins. as an officer they ask you to wear your badge to determine officers on a call.in the winter you can wear a job shirt, or some thing along the lines of one. every one kinda puts together there own uniform in the end

  6. i have one star of life sticker in the back window, a magnet that says support your local volunteer rescue sqaud, and a sticker for a fallen fire fighter from my area.and my squad 2nd lt plate.i have been in ems for about 6 years it took me till this past summer to put anything ems on my car, now i dont care if people know who i am. if a cop wants to pull me over than so be it. i also wanted something on my PV because i do go right to the scene a lot of the time to meat the crew.

  7. when i had my first loss i was 18, a probe on a volley squad the only cert i had was cpr at the time, so i was with 2 emts, i was doing paper work and i hear staring cpr, i froze for a min. than snapped back in to things. did compressions all the way to the hospital transferred the patient. and thats when i lost it, i sat in the bay at the hospital crying my eyes out smoking about 1/2 a pack of smokes. one the way back to the station they pulled over to put me on O2. it is one call that i will never forget. but it all just makes you stronger
