There is a PC game out there I will try to find out the name of it, but I know it is at least a few years old. We bought the game at Wal-Mart for $10. I do remember in the game you drove the ambulance to the call, treated the patient, and took them to the hospital.

You might want to try to get ahold of Children's Hospital in St. Louis MO. They have a ped critical care transport unit they might be able to give you some ideas.

I have used lidocaine drip. The basis of the drip is from the action of the drug. The patient was unresponsive on arrival with bigeminal PVC and runs of V-Tach, but after the lidocaine push began slowly responding and decreasing frequency of PVCs. I hung a drip and had a normal sinus with occassional PVCs in a completely alert patient by the time I transferred care. I hope that helps.

I love my choice of becoming a medic. I was told by a professor when I was majoring in another degree program that a job is something you do to make money, but a career is something you would do even if you don't get paid. I work at a county district and I don't make a lot, but I know how to live within my means. A lot of us do this because we love to help other not for the money. Don't get me wrong paying the bills is important, but if you do something you truly love then you will find a way to make enough money or will adjust to you income.

This has also happened recently in Jefferson County Missouri. The girlfriend killed the baby. But at least the girlfriend and the father are both facing charges. The girlfriend is facing murder and the father is facing child endangerment for leaving the child with her after prior abuse problems.

Depending on the type of event, the group may require an ambulance. In my experience with mx racing, the tracks contracted the ambulance because it was required by the regulating committee of the main association for any of the races to count for points. Other times we were asked to be at some events for insurance reasons.
