I arrived here in Iraq 3 weeks ago and did not know what to expect and what I found out was it is nothing like what I am used to. It is all clinical and I see patients that are coming in for sick call everything from stuffy noses to cardiac problems. We do go by certain protocols but I have learned quite a bit already, For instance I have got more indepth on bowel sounds just what to listen for rather than a quick listen and yep have bowel sounds, Looking into the ears just what to look for like the reflective light on the tympanic membrane any damage swelling things like that. The company I work for does a good job on training and the medics that have been here for a long time really like to take the time to teach and answer any questions I might have. I think I have made a good move just by the learning aspect of my job.
