It is a shame that these days we in the EMS field risk being shot, stabbed, or assaulted in other ways when trying to provide care to those so willing to take our lives. I'm seeking any information anyone may have regarding surplus, granted, or otherwise readily available body armor that might be provided to EMS personnel.

Imagine the confusion when EMS is requested for a male shot in the back. A dark night working by flashlight and the patient screaming "they shot me in the back". We searched and searched looking for wounds but could find nothing. Confused and a little irritated it all cleared up when the patient pointed to the rear of the house again saying "they shot me in the back". EMS clear. It's a police matter...
