  1. Outstanding! It gives me hope for our youth and the future of EMS. I've had 30 y/o Basics "blank out" in a stressfull situation and become completely useless. These kids are going to be a great asset to their communities and to the Medics they work under. Let's hope they choose EMS in their future over money.

  3. Yea, I know what it means... Thank you. Besides my inability to type, I can't spell worth a damn, I'm a little overweight and my feet smell! Now that we've cleared all that up, I think the point I was trying to make is that there are potential HIPAA issues here if you were to bring a kid in the ambulance with you, or anywhere that the child could overhear or see a patients personal health related issues. We all know that kids can't keep a secret and will just blurt out the most embarrasing things at the most inoportune time. If you thought it was akward when little johny told the church lady about Mommy and Daddy "wrestling", imagine what your going to feel like when little johny tells the class at school during show-n-tell, about how you saved little Timmy's mommy from a drug overdose last night. #-o
  4. :toothy1: Hey everyone, my names Bob. I live in Maine and I have been employed as an EMT-I for a little over two years now. I was an EMT-B for about a year before that. I'll be finishing up my paramedic class in about 6 weeks and then I'll be turned loose on the general population. I gave up a job an an electronics engineer to do this, and although I am now broke, I look forward to getting up and going to work. I am lucky to have a wonderful wife who understands the long absences while I work, go to school, and do clinical rotations. Although the dog now growls at me when I enter the door, she still recognizes me (after I let her sniff my hand a bit  . To all those considering paramedicine... it's a lot of work, but I think it's worth it. No other job in the world can give you the same satisfaction (or at times aggravation).
  5. Besides the obvious safety, lack of professionalism and company liability concerns... can you say HIPPA violation? Good God man!
