You all have great ideas for mapping and how to learn your area. I respond with two different services in two different counties and they both dispatch differently. :? So to be able to use all of your ideas to create two mapping systems one for each county to have in my vehicle with be of great help and save time for the patients waiting for care. I do try to watch road signs and make mental notes of the roads when I am driving through the counties, but it sometimes that is hard to recall when you are going to the scene and you are in full EMT mode. Thanks for you great ideas.

In my neck of the woods we have a lot of SOB calls or chest pains. And MVC's at least 20 a month, i live in the north woods so we are good at missing each other but the deer get us everytime!

[/font:65c6ecfcdc] I am new to the site, but when I took the EMT course I was taught to only administer oral glucose if the patient is responsive and can shallow. If they are not able to shallow then we have to call medical control and get permission to administer a glucagon injection. That is what my protocols are here.
