  1. I bought a 300 dollar e2 Tungsten that I don't even use.

I have the emedic program too. Which I never use.

It's a shiny piece of kit, but a pain in the arse to carry around.

I end up writing stuff on a 59 cent pad of paper.

    Wanna buy it?

  2. Ok, I agree that statement wasn't entirely fair, I must have been in a foul mood when i wrote it.

I'll take it back though if any riding in those areas produce an MP with a backbone when it comes to punishing cop killers, child molesters, traitors, terrorists, and rapists like they deserve instead of coddling them and talking about their feelings.

  3. Anyone who wants work out here will find it right now.

Virtually every health authority in the province is begging for bodies right now.

If you don't mind working in the sticks this is the place for you.

Housing is dirt cheap, the pay is pretty good, and the licensing process is not even a pain in the ass.

Supervisors are on their hands and knees begging all the staff to head hunt everyone they can.

If anyone is interested, let me know.

  4. I did the industrial EMS thing for 6 months and hated every second of it. I was in camp for 6 weeks with one week out.

My only goal was to make an assload of money, and get out.

I have a pretty decent truck, a quad, and a savings account now, and I got a real EMS job at the first opportunity.

All in all, industrial EMS sucks, but I sure miss clearing 7 grand a month. Hahaha

  5. well, i'm from manitoba working with Dauphin Ambulance. i love it but i have applied to Criticare for their PCP program. hope i get accepted.

I went to Criticare, Their program kicks ass.

    Excellent clinical sites as well.

PM me, and you can buy me a beer next time I'm in Winnipeg. hehehe

  6. Of course you're going to screw up, you're a student.

    Thats how we learn.

I highly doubt your preceptors are going to put you in a position where you are going to kill anyone.

And as far as knowing the answers to questions, you probably had to write a lot of written tests to get to where you are right?

It would be my guess you know the stuff, just keep calm and it will come to you.

So get in there and soldier on.

  7. VS, why do you keep doing this?

It's just going to get locked anyway, I predict by lunchtime CST.

Anyhoo, I think a belief in God, or a lack therof is a very personal thing.

My trying to change your beliefs would be a staggering waste of time and oxygen.

As would your efforts to change mine.

That being said, I'm not going to "preach" at you at all, but that "Tolerance" thing works both ways.

I don't get on your back for being an Atheist,

    So get off mine.

    Cheers.

  8. I could be wrong, but I think the reports you mention are from battlefield injuries. Situations where cleaning the site, applying direct pressure, and carefully bandaging will end up getting you killed. Placing a tourniquet is much faster, and therefore safer for the providers.

Of course, this is the military, so we might see some of these ideas in the future.

Unfortunatly, good tactics is bad medicine and vice versa.

I've seen an idiot proof TQ issued to every soldier, and the last US Army medic I talked to told me airway management in Iraq is NPA straight to a cric.

    Anyone heard anything different?
