  1. 2 Daughters of a longtime EMS associate of mine just survived with bruises an accident while in a Smart4Two. The vehicle was totaled, but they believe so much in the car, they're using the insurance check to purchase a new one.

Was the squirrel they hit ok? :shifty:

Glad the daughters were not hurt.

  2. how can you make them safer? The loud pipes, while some people think they are annoying are also a safety feature, to be heard.

I understand the theory, but loud pipes do not save lives. They may keep Harley in business, but between the doppler effect and increased sound deadening of newer vehicles, this is a justification for people to have lout bikes, nothing more.

On the other hand, the flashing headlights, accessory lights should be required on all bikes.

To the OP, if you buy a bike, be informed and understand the risks and consequences. I'd far rather have my kids on a motorcycle than a smartcar.

  3. There are a lot of protein powders that taste good and do the job. The protein source may vary, and each week you'll hear why one source is better than the other. I prefer to use the powder as an addition to a shake (e.g. spinach, banana, peanut butter, ice, milk and protein powder). In that use, I don't think it matters as much which brand you buy. That being said, I know it's not considered a "hard core" powder, but I think Muscle Milk tastes the best.

Are you planning to use it pre- or post-workout source of protein or as a meal replacement?

  4. What the hell is going on here? We have a member who may or may have not been busted for DWI, we have a smart smart member playing a drinking game that may or may result in choking.

Has all common sense left this younger generation?

    But back to the thread.

The first thread was speculation and in this thread, the person witnessed a drinking game. Not quite time to pull the pin on society. Now, if you want to talk about common sense and the increasing use of cell phones in an ambulance while patients are on board, well, you've got something there.

  5. Travalina in Buy and Cell? The only reason I went to that movie was because of a wrestler who was in it, and his part was so bad (the wrestler, not Fred), I ended up apologizing to my Lady J for having made her see that movie, and voluntarily made the next 2 films "chick flicks".Same wrestler starred in the sci fi "They Live". While still a bad film, my wrestler stank less in that one. Travalina at the Telethon was a better showcase of his talents than his role in Buy and Cell. However, he will be missed. Just remembered, the wrestler was "Rowdy" Roddy Piper.

However he did have one of the greatest lines from a film in that movie:

  6. The few studies I have found regarding the use of prehospital US seem to be positive. I think it would be a mistake to disregard the use of a new technology based on assumptions. Is there evidence of US causing significant delay in treatment or transportation?

  7. Ok, somebody help me out. If you already know you're going to commit Medicare fraud with this transport, why are you DOCUMENTING that fact somewhere other than the paperwork you submit to Medicare? It'd be like murdering somebody, then writing down all the details of the crime and leaving it in your house.

I'd say that the EMT's/medics did well to document the runs as they happened. The fact that the company chose to bill medicare falsely is the company's problem. This is a good example of the benefits of truth in documentation.

Not saying that you didn't know this CB, I just wanted to make sure that the EMT's/medics that did what was right was highlighted and that they were separated from the company that decided to bill for the transports. I'm sure the employees were pressured to "adjust" their documentation to fit the Medicare transport standards.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if you were right, Dust. Especially if the employee was fired or quit because of documentation issues. Probably better than admitting you were busted during "Operation Easy Rider." B)

  8. Exactly, NEVER piss off a latin queen. ^_^

Room full of money, who cares? Are you going to be able to take enough to start a new life? Nope. If you take enough for a new car? Probably not. No matter what you buy, you will remember how you got the money for it everytime you see it. And it will remind you of what kind of person you are, everyday.

As far as the accepting gifts issue, I think Ruff nailed most of it. Act as if you receipt of the gift were being televised. Some gifts aren't appropriate to take, but I can't see arguing with some old lady who wants to give me a gift certificate for dinner because I helped give her a couple more years with her husband. Dust is right in that some people have no inner voice, but I'm not going to base my decisions on compensating for some other jagoff.
