  1. Hi guys,

I'm trying to expand my expierience in prehospital care so I'm searching for a EMS who would let me ride with them for 2 or 3 month.

Why? In Germany many medics look to the north american system with "this is the best of the world". I wanna see myself.

    To my c.v.:

20 year old (will be 21 years old soon :) )

German Paramedic (called Rettungsassistent, comparable with the curriculum of the EMT-I) with AHA ACLS Provider certification.

    Qualified medical transportation disptacher.

I still don't know if it's still possible with the new homeland security laws and all that stuff. I asked a few people who worked overseas, but that was before 9/11.

Are there any special immigration laws or something to deal with?

I would be very pleased for any help, adresses, etc.

    Thanks for now!

    Phil

  2. Old appartment, X-Mas two years ago.. The grand-Pa collapsed into flatline on the x-mas dinner... We responded, with us (as ususal here) an emergency physican.

After over an hour CPR we decided to declare him.

The physican to the hole family, which was standing around most of the CPR: You will be laughing. But Your GranPa's dead!

    OWWWHHHH...

  3. I have always used lifepacks. They are what I know and love. I am not the medical director, so I will continue to use whatever the hell they give me.

    Good point! :?

Most of us won't have the position to really change that fact.

They asked us what Defibrillator/EKG-Monitor they should buy for the hole state a few years ago... Zoll M, LP12 or Corpuls06/16 (German manufacturer) were for vote....

Well...we choose LP12 for better NIBP, energy management, better car recharger and nice 12 Lead function...

And what did they do? They gave as a LP12 especially produced serie only with 3 Lead function, AED and pacer mode...

And of course without car recharger...

  4. I'm using LP12 for over 3 years now. At my second job we used Zoll M (I've been there for 6 months).

    Well..Hm.

I prefer the LP12. The Zoll has some vantages (size, robustness, better addon-bags), but for me as an urban EMT I prefer the LP12 with it's better energy management, it's bigger display and better options for fastening it to the stretcher.

  5. hey, punisher, nice "Rettungsassistent" Button..Must be from Germany.. "Rettungsassistent" ist German for "Paramedic".. (Well..ähm..as well we're not as qualified as a REAL paramedic..)

I for my self own a VIPER Bag made by Boscarol (italian company, but i've seen them already overseas;) ).

    Similar to this one:

At work we use Rucksacks of a special Germany company ([web:bb53793a16]http://www.x-cen-tek.de[/web:bb53793a16]) or some noname US EMS- Bags.

  6. Our owner is very big on preventing injuries because he feels that if give your employees the equipment they need, the equipment that will make the job easier, the equipment they want, then you'll have a safer, healthier, happier, and more efficient medic.

Hmmm... That's a lesson my boss missed...

Little question: The upper Part of the stretcher is still the normal one, known from the MX Version?

    cya,

    Phil
