  1. I have been reading posts here for about two months and have never seen the need to register an account. I have never had the urge to post. I normally just read and agree, disagree, or laugh at the posts. I thought I might find it enlightening to read other peoples point of views in our career path. ..........In a clinical study of mice in mazes, the mice in a starting point surrounded by mirrors became so enthrawled with themselves that they lost sight of the purpose. Sorry for using your thread, but tis one was full of rediculous, pointless " slamming", and name calling. Take care all!

Ok "just smiling man"- what was the trigger for you to post now? Something apparently set you off.

  2. Blast!!

How do they come up with proposals for grants to study the blatantly obvious?

Proposals are easy...I would ask who are the ones who front the money for these studies??? Not that I disagree with the results of this study as far as how much women do in the morning...and afternoon...and night....

But it is unbelievable the research projects that are funded. I worked in epidemiology as a research assistant and when I had down time I would check out different studies. You would be blown away by some of the dumb shi* that is backed. Go figure.

  3. ITA with MedicNorth (and other posters)... no seat belt=get the hell out of the car.

Not just because it's the law- just plain common sense. Who wants the projectile object slamming around in the car?

And, just to add, nothing worse than seeing Mom with baby on her lap in the front seat- so sorry Brittany- don't care where you are from- you are not that strong to restrain that baby in a crash. 8)

  4. "One day you decide that maybe you should go ahead and lock a couple morphines in the ambo's lock box "just in case." So... you walk out to the ambo with two morphines, unlock the ambulance and climb in. Then you unlock the narc box, which you expect to find empty, and you find a zippered pouch sitting there. A strange "oh $hit" look comes across your face as you slowly lift the pouch out and open it. "

Where the he** is Nancy Drew when you need her?????

I was thinking along similiar lines as Becksdad, is it ok using it for a CA pt. who might not have meds. From an ethical/moral point, this seems similiar to the scenario of stealing bread if your family is starving. Does that make you a "bad" person?

  5. Hey Becksdad- she has a headache.....

Curious what triggered the call to 911? Why not call her own MD if this has been a reoccuring problem for the past week or so, and she does not appear to be in distress. (drug seeker?is she on a meds contract?) Anyway, did the HA's begin when she started the atenolol? What was her BP prior to meds? Still seems high for the meds- is she taking it in the correct dosage?

  6. Wait just a dang second....

    So:

    I can't drive fast...

    I'm supposed to study..every day!...

Have to tuck in my shirt...

    No lights on my car...

    And now no tattoos?

That's it! I'm becoming an accountant! Anyone know where they get their badges?

I'm going on Ebay right now to see if I can find an H&R Block window punch....

    Dwayne

Just don't become a Proctologist- imagine their choices of badges and tattoos....

  7. I would want vitals, SAMPLE, pupils, O2 sat. Any sign of trauma? Smells in house or AOB for pt.? W/o any other info or history...I would consider various DX meningitis, migraine, hemorrhage/aneurysm, infection, stroke, carbon monixide. If the pt's aao a history would be very pertinent. Anyone else in the house?
