New EMT-B - Boston

Hi. Got licensed a year ago and after a lot of crappy, tiny companies saying no, I finally got a yes from the best private in the area. I would really like to work for the city, but I know I gotta start somewhere.

I'm curious about the type of system's people work in, specifically are you independent or part of Fire? Boston is independent, but occasionally work in tandem with Fire, where as where I'm from, Baltimore, all EMS (except for transfer trucks) is run out of fire.

I'd also love to here drugs and programs that EMT-B's in your area are permitted to do that is rare nationally, ie.Nasal Narcan, etc.

Welcome. I have no experience to help in any of your questions. But I am sure that some of the guys here will have a lot to say. There is a lot of experience represented on in this forum.
