  1. Please clarify Summer Biathlon, am familiar with winter Olympic biathlon.

Summer biathlon is a minority sport in Germany. We run optionally on summer skis or with sneakers. The rules are similar to the normal biathlon. I prefer to run with sneakers, because I had in 2007 a torn ACL on Duty and have some problems since the ACL replacement with rotation movements.

  4. Thank you for the warm welcome Pox and djdudley.

djdudey. I've met some really nice people here at the Chat in the last weeks. And in the forum, there are really interesting topics. However, I still need a little time to understand all the words and different meanings behind some sentences here.

  5. Welcome to emtcity, Fenta! Great to have the german area covered a bit more.

Ah, and don't get me started on that "Notkompetenz" thing which doesn't really exist. No, don't. Please. Thank you. Our fellow collegues here wouldn't even understand this urban legend. :)

Thank you for the welcome, Thank you for your words they're also my opinion and thank you for the friendship. :)

  6. Thank you for the welcome DFIB and runswithneedles !!

I am currently reading in the forum and have a look on all the Topics. I think I need a little time to give good answers. The American English is not easy to understand, depending on where the people come from.

  7. I don`t think I was unfriendly, but if you think I was - then let me say: it wasn`t intended.

Anyways, I don`t think there´s anything more to say about this.

Jump in and join the forum. :)

Thank you. I would like to do that. And do not worry. I think you're a nice guy. ;)

  8. What do you mean? ;)

    That.......... vvvvvv

I don`t want that to become a pissing contest about the level of education,

I was just getting at some points, you know. And I think the tip about looking up the scope of practices of the different levels was pretty valid.

    10-4 That was understood.

However, one must not be unfriendly. ------> pissing is not my word.....

  9. Terrible ..

what do you use for words ?

Honestly, I was just curious. But I did not want a tail comparison or whatever.

I think no matter what we write here, the most important thing is that we do our job well and love what we're doing.

  10. I was under the principles for the training of EMTs of the Federal / State Committee "rescue " of 20/09/1977 trained and tested in North Rhine-Westphalia. Since 2001, there is a new training and examination regulations of the Federal / State Committee "rescue".

Times are changing....Only the fact that before the law not exist the " Notkompetenz " will never change. Everything we do is always done in Justifying emergency. ;)

  11. Thank you for the welcome paramedicmike and Vorenus.

    @Vorenus

That's difficult to say. I've learned in the country rescue and was trained according to the old laws. Whether it is good or bad I do not know....

I would be interested in what the different training levels here differs. Then I could better assess where I stand. The people from New York with which I write regularly about medical matters, always said to me that i am something like an EMT- P.

  12. Howdy at all,

some days ago I accidentally found this forum. And now I've found a bit time to say hi between my Volunteer shifts.

    To me.

I am 34 years old, come from Germany and I am something like an EMT-P. I work since 17 Years as Volunteer EMT for an Civil Protection Unit and befor 5 Years i was a paid Professional in EMS.

I hope to meet here nice people, get new friends and learn new things.

Greetings from the other side of the bis Pond !!!
