  1. Medic experiences with marathon Sid dtations(volunteer or otherwise:)

We just finished doing Ogden Utah 26k marathon aid station with Med reserves n red. Cross, it was awesome! Some cases of panic attacks, hypothermia(raining n wet @ 45 degrees) that wasn't awesome part;) but the experience was interesting n some pt complaints were new to me ( never did marathon before) like bleeding nipples on the guys because of friction. Lots of icy hot :) for sore or spasm muscles, some cases of dehydration , including low K and Na etc we ran short. On supplies n got creative while waiting for back up, all n all fun experience I really admire the fortitude of the runners!

Sorry spell check: "situations "is the word in topic

  2. I can't figure out how to upload some of my pics in the gallery, so I thought I'd provide one of my EMS pics, if there is another place where ppl are sharing pics, plz let me know where it is:) thank you, I'm such a newbie

How about cool EMT B shirts? so many of mine have paint etc on them now:) I love wearing them. W/ MRC (medical reserves) we have cool vests bright yellow, and bright yellow tees with the medusas on it:) I have a huge collection of scrubs, I have one that is literally called "movie cats" with a bunch of cats watching a movie w/ popcorn.. it's like the creator took Versed! I hope someone here is going to get all my pharma jokes!!

  3. Hello! This is a cool forum, I was looking up stuff for our MRC training disaster scenario at a local hospital, simulation plane crash:) it was fun!!

My husband is an ObGyn/surgeon, I'm an NAEMT and chemist. I love volunteering for CERT and MRC (med reserves core for county,) so cool to work with other EMS, docs, nurses, public health etc. Most ppl don't get our senses of humour, so it might be fun to meet other EMS around the country or world. Here's a cool link for those who are studying or want to brush up, etc

It has all the acronyms etc, there's even more than when I was working full time!! I miss that crazy, hectic schedule so volunteering it really fun, I LOVE all the scenarios: earthquake, chemical spills (can someone pass the Atropine?) anthrax , ok not as thrilling giving out Cipro to thousands of ppl:) if there are any chemistry buffs, who love EMS love to hear from you.
