I agree with everyone else, take the 7th Ed pHTLs first and see if you like it. I teach it every month and there are some good things about it and some bad things. Another thing you an consider taking is Tactical Combat Casualty Care.

When I was out on convoys I carried 72-hour type bag, made sure each of the vehicles in my convoy had a WALK bag. I had my care under fire supplies in a medic pouch on my chest rig (easy to get to form any position). When I had a casualty, I initiated with my CUF bag and 72 hour kit and let the other grab the WALK if I needed it.
