  1. I wasn't talking seriously, everyone knows that stereotypes are just stereotypes. I know stereotypes aren't true because of the Canadian stereotypes, and us Canadians don't match them. And Britt, I never said Canadians were smarter. Knowone is smarter or dumber just because of their nationality. When you implied I was stupid, (like a five year old would do), in an effort to tell you that it was unfounded I said, "Canadians have been doing better academically anyway, so I'm not stupid." And I wasn't repeating any stereotype about Canadians being smarter, I was repeating a study that found that Candians do better in academics. This study does not represent all Americans.

Maybe if so many of you didn't act like children, and constantly pick a fight with me, I could have corrected you. Unfortunatly, itku2er has made it clear to me that people who obey the rules, should be kicked off, and people who break the rules, should stay. Any efforts to non-violently defend myself against people who I'd think were school kids, gets you booted out of the chatroom. You all just aren't worth it. Why should I talk, if everyone is to ignorant, and childish to listen? Life's too short to waste on people like you.

  2. When you use phrases like:

It's a little hard to just dismiss it as 'just talking'. When you insult someone from a particular region, someone's going to take it as 'bashing' and they WILL be offended. Whether you intentionally did it or not, is a matter yet to be proven.

Whether I intentionally did it or not? I don't have to prove to anyone that I didn't mean it. I didn't, and I don't care what you have to say about it either.

Tell us megan, with your incomplete 8th grade education (by your own admission), just how much time have you spent in the 'deep south' with us 'backwoods hicks'? I'm sure that the employment opportunities for someone of your 'educational level' provides enough disposable income for you to travel to other countries and be able to make such observations first hand!

How old are you? You sound like a five year old, insulting me. Why don't you act your age? I know you want to pick fights, insult, and judge people you don't know, but I'm not interested. Life is too short to debate with someone like you.

My suggestion to you: the next time you open your mouth to stick your foot in it, you might want to make sure the shoe laces are tied, so you don't end up gagging on them!

My suggestion to you would be not to act childish, and be mature. I hope you can find something else that amuses you as much as talking down to, and insulting everyone you don't like.

  3. Lone Star, I don't stereotype. I was just talking, and that's they way it came out. I didn't expect anyone was going to think this was a Southern bashing thread. It's not. I like the south.

  4. It's of Cajun origin. It seems like something a backwoods hick would eat; from the South. The Deep South. It's even more gross when you think about how they eat it. They cut it down the centre horizontally perpendicular. You get a sliver of duck, chicken, and turkey. And bone. Oh, and stuffing. In the meat, not on the side. The duck is so oily it looks like too. It looks like pure fat.

  5. Oh sorry. I just went back to see if I can fix it, but it wouldn't let me. NBC aired hockey for awhile, but it got very low ratings. I'm not sure if NBC still brodcasts it anymore.

  6. I've been upset that not more Americans, and others around the world don't watch hockey. I'm in Canada, so we have plenty of hockey fans. I wanted to know why it's unpopular. This poll is for Canadians too!

  7. That's not fair about those two Glasgow medics! That's absolute BS! If those were two cops that got assaulted, they would be in jail for attemted murder or something close.

I guess I should have been more specific. I meant have you ever been kicked, hit, ect... Not a full blown attack. But yeah, attacks included. I think I got my answer though. All but maybe two have been physically assaulted. That really angers me about Glasgow.

When I'm a paramedic, I'm not gonna take any of that. I used to think that violence to stop violence was petty. My mentality has changed so much, and I don't have any control over it. I now think that anyone who assaults me or one of my friends; I'll take their head off. I never used to think like that up until a few months ago. Now I realize it's neccisary.

  8. I've been doing some more reading about Paramedics/EMTs and the violence they experience. I am probably going to experience it no doubt when I become an EMT. Just a few months ago in our city, a patient of an EMS crew got their ambulance stolen. It took a helicopter, and 12 police cars to catch him. Now most medics wear bullet-proof vests. In my city they do.

I was also reading about how all the paramedics in Edmonton have experienced violence at least once, and 97% more than twice. So on, and so forth. I would just like to know if any of the paramedics/EMTs on this site have been attacked, if so; tell your stories.
