  1. Granted, you speak French, but live in India.

I wish my servants wouldn't sit around all day :D

Granted, but they charge $100 an hour

I wish FireEMT would stop being a smart a** :P

  2. Wish granted but you only get to work in the OB ward

    I wish I had a new gun. ;)

wish granted but you shoot yourself in the foot with it

I wish I could speak french

Granted, your new gun is a super soaker with broken pump (now you can't squirt)

    I wish I had a servant.

Granted but all they do is sit around and do nothing

I wish I could speak french

  3. Granted, you have a waffle... but I used the last two drops of syrup that Kat gave me.

I wish it would start acting like spring and be warm.

Wish granted but it rains all spring

    I wish I was a paramedic

  4. I wish we could have a cadet program around here! They keep trying to get it to work but unfortunately you need clinical time in the ER before you can complete the local emt class. Non of the hospitals locally will let you do your clinical unless you are 18 and older.....-_-

As far as having a student or less trained emt on the ambulance, my agency does it! But is has to be a crew of 3, 2 experienced emts and 1 student/noob. If they are a student, they can only do basic First Aid skills and the field report. If they are a noob, we start them off slow and easy, starting with vital signs, field report, Basic FA and then as time goes on and they prove themselves more they get to do more stuff! It is a great way to get knowledge and experiance..... B) Just dive in and learn all the hands on stuff you can (with close supervision of corse)!

  5. Ok..... what happened to just MacGyvering it!!! I mean have you ever heard of improvise, overcome, and adapt!!?? If you where in a disaster situation, or even in the wilderness.... use what you have around you! I know MacGyver was only a TV show... but most of the stuff he did made since! Use your brain and think about what you have around you to work with [paper clip, pocket knife, gum raper (things MacGyver used)... lol].... yes some of those things you just can't improvise.... but if that is the case... maybe you shouldn't be useing it without the proper training or carry those items in a smaller kit. Any way that is just my thoughts B)

  6. You didn't do this just to get attention and sympathy from us girls did you ....!? LOL, just kidding, I know you have been in alot of pain lately and I hope this will finally help! Hope you start feeling better and enjoy the paid time off (lucky duck!).... don't get into too much trouble!

  7. Like a lot of other private, volly ambulance services, we have no money to up date our AEDs.... We have the heartstart 3000 on both of the ambulances... they are capable of doing 2-leads, but sometimes I wonder if the reading is really accurate. It is better than nothing though and it still delivers a shock if needed!

  8. Hello, my name is Tracy and I've been an EMT-B for a few years. But as of now I am officially a "pending" EMT-P as I passed the NREMT practical today (did the written a few weeks ago) :D

Looking forward to chatting with all of you.

Congrates tracy!! It must feel really good to finally get that done! I wish I was at that point.... still working on EMT-P, but I will get there some day! Welcome to the city, hope you enjoy it like I do! :D

  9. I home schooled 1st, 6th, and all of high school! The best part about it is that I was able to get all my school work done in the morning and play in the afternoon when all my friends had to do home work! It is hard tough!!! Make sure that you take the time to help your kids with anything they need or find someone that can help them understand the info.

I used A beka, a good but very hard curriculum (it is Christian based however)! The nice thing about that program is that they have DVDs for each class, that has a teacher in a classroom teaching kids, so it makes you feel like you are a part of the class. If you don't understand something, you can just rewind the DVD and watch the class again! A beka also has a fully accredited program so that when you complete grade 12 you can graduate with a high school diploma instead of having to get your GED like most home schoolers. But there are alot of other good programs out there as well. Good luck!! :)

  10. WOW! This is just messed up! What is the world coming to when people have to lie to get attention :^o and then sue to cover up their tracks and try to keep their reputation.... :angry7:

If you know anything about this forum.... it is that you should only post the truth.... because people will check up on it! Right, AK and Dusty!?

  11. Off topic, sorta, but speaking of beds.. I'd like to see a thicker, more comfortable bolster mattress for ambulance stretchers. No, it's not luxury, but laying on the stretcher shouldn't be torture.

what next, give pt massages? are the rides really long enough to warrant the cost of a more comfortable stretcher? Not that I am against pt comfort by any means, but I would vote for other things in the unit to be either safer for myself or more comfortable for me before choosing a more comfy stretcher.

Actually, I live in a small town and every call takes about 30 min to get to the nearest hospital... so yes the ride really is long enough.... And then there is always long distance transfers, that is always... "fun". Unfortunately I have been the patient on that uncomfortable mattress, and it is not a nice ride.

  12. Welcome!!

I hope you have fun getting to know a few of us while you are here! And Remember this site has a lot of people, from all over the world, with different opinions and great knowledge 8) ! So have fun, learn, and keep going!
