  1. A severe allergic reaction to Beer has allowed me to avoid many of the finer points discussed above.

So throughout college I was always very popular as a Designated Driver.

  2. Hi,

Not sure what thread to put this in so here it goes.. I have to give a family member sub q injections of Lovenox

after a gastric bypass procedure that is be done in the near future. I have done some homework to research the medication and have a question that repeated web searches have not found an understandable explanation :

what is the Mean peak anti-Factor Xa activity as it relates to determining the therapeutic level of Lovenox?

I am a medic that is familiar with PT and PTT parameters. But I have not heard of the Anti factor Xa.

    Thank you

    Chris

  3. For an additional source of information... the NJ DOH...OEMS web site has a list of

the actual letters of discipline sent to als, bls providers and their companies.

it includes their fines as well.

I would post the link but I am not gifted enough to know how to do it.

It would give you some additional information.

  4. In New jersey they offer this to EMT's as an additional title so that they can add a rocker patch over their emt patch that says... Paramedic assistant. They get some hands on practice with the lifepack 12, how to run through IV's, some fyi ekg and phamacology info and that is it. It does not allow them to do anything beyond their scope as emt b's. I think this in total is 16 hours long.

  5. HI,

I always ask the BLS if they have done a search or witnessed the PD do a search. If the answer is no, I always ask the PD present to do it. I have had them turn up knives, drugs and wads of money rolls... I am not a LEO so I let them do this part of the job. I work in an area where we have PD respond to 99% of all of our jobs....

  6. So, I'm a little confused by the last post.... are you saying that in some cases it is ok to use succs if it is < 48 hrs and the pt has the ability to maintain some mobility in the limbs to lessen the buildup of Ach?
